Our Practices
Careful Stewardship
At Hwy 145 Craft Cuts, our beef is the result of generations of careful stewardship and innovation. For over five generations, they have worked to perfect the genetics of our cattle—focusing on taste, tenderness, marbling, and feed efficiency. This legacy of care ensures that every cut of beef we offer is both premium in quality and raised with integrity.
But our commitment goes beyond the cattle—it’s about the land, the water, and the community we call home. Healthy soil, clean water, and diverse ecosystems are at the core of how we operate. By practicing responsible grazing and rotational feeding, we allow our pastures to rest and regenerate, supporting long-term soil health and natural biodiversity.
Our practices also connect directly with our other local business, Bruin Waste Management. Through this work, we recently introduced curbside compost collection for both residents and businesses in our community.
The food scraps and organic material we collect are taken to a local composting facility, processed into nutrient-rich compost, and then returned to our fields as natural fertilizer. This closed-loop system not only reduces waste but also enriches the soil where we grow hay for our cattle. In turn, the cattle we raise are nourished by this hay, completing a regenerative cycle that keeps resources local and sustainable.
By choosing our beef, you’re not only enjoying a high-quality product but also supporting a ranch that values sustainability, community, and the future of agriculture. Our customers can feel confident knowing that every purchase helps promote healthy land, clean water, and a more sustainable food system.
